British Invasion!

The King's Speech!!!!

COLIN FIRTH!!!!!

AARON SORKIN!!!  (not British...but I'm still excited about it)

I so would have cleaned up in any Oscars pool, damn it.

I say thee yay, Colin Firth!!!  I say thee yay, Aaron Sorkin!!  I say thee yay, The King's Speech people (director, screenwriter, and producers)!!

Whoo hoo!  So excited for Colin Firth and for The King's Speech. Such a good movie.

Dance, Colin, dance!  It would have been so much more entertaining than what little I was able to see of the show (Anne Hathaway, good; James Franco--nervous? bored?  high?  Am signing on to Ebert's suggestion of Kevin Spacey.  KS & AH would have been fun :D)

("Mark Darcy," CNN, really?  Really?  At least go with Fitzwilliam Darcy; Jennifer Ehle was in the movie, too :D)

AND THEE YAY AARON SORKIN'S KID'S GUINEA PIG.

I've never actually been in agreement with the Oscars, so this is a momentous year for me/the Oscars. I was thrilled Colin and The King's Speech won, and although I wasn't a big fan of The Black Swan, I will admit that Natalie Portman did a great job. She looked stunning, to boot - what a bitch.

My roommate and I, after watching a few of James Franco's most recent appearances, have come to the conclusion that he is actually always high.

I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN AARON SORKIN'S ACCEPTANCE SPEECH. I NEED TO FIX THAT.

Yes! This is the first year I'm in agreement with the Oscars, too! Whatever nominated movie I do see in a given year NEVER WINS (it's rare if I can get more than one...but even when I watch a lot of the nominated ones I still can't pick the winners/still can't agree with the winners). I was kind of worried I had jinxed The King's Speech, ngl. I haven't seen The Black Swan...it looks a little scary. She looks stunning *now* and she's how many months pregnant? *is jealous*

Heh. I HAD NO IDEA HE WAS EVEN NOMINATED. That's how ridiculous I was this year.

Black Swan isn't really very scary unless you're scared of a lack of unlikeable characters.

YOU MEAN I WAS SUCKED IN BY THE EERIE MUSIC AND BLACK AND WHITE IMAGES OF THE PROMOS.

drat. (but, wait, my brain is on holiday...there are lots of likeable characters...or is there a lack of likeable characters...why is my brain so broken and so easily confused? this is sad. you know what? just ignore me. I'll be over there, in the corner, trying not to hurt anyone.)

And hi! BTW. How are you? Good, I hope.

To encrypt it in geekspeak, the likeable characters are as abundant as Lisa Edelstein's post-s1 appearances on West Wing.

I'm neither good nor bad. Mostly engaged in giving myself an ulcer waiting for Monday. You?
